Product Introduction

Our tungsten carbide inserts for superalloy are made of ultra-fine grain carbide substrate combined with high-temperature resistant coating. Superalloys feature high-temperature strength, severe work hardening and poor thermal conductivity, which easily cause high cutting temperature and built-up edge. These inserts are specially developed to overcome the machining difficulties of superalloy materials.

Applications

Suitable for turning and milling nickel-based and iron-based superalloys. Widely used in CNC lathes and machining centers for aerospace parts, gas turbine components, engine parts, oilfield downhole tools and high-temperature resistant equipment.

The price of tungsten carbide blades depends on multiple factors as below:

  1. Carbide grade & grain size Different cobalt content and grain sizes (ultra-fine, fine, medium, coarse) lead to different raw material costs. High-toughness or high-wear resistant grades are more expensive.
  2. Dimensions & shape complexity Simple square/rectangular blades cost less. Special profiles, chamfers, radius edge, special angle or non-standard custom shapes require extra grinding and EDM work, raising the unit price.
  3. Coating treatment Uncoated blades are basic. TiN, TiCN, AlTiN and other high-performance coatings add extra cost, but greatly improve service life for metal machining.
  4. Tolerance & surface finish requirement High precision tolerance, mirror surface finish need more diamond grinding operations, higher price than standard tolerance.
  5. Order quantity Bulk orders enjoy better unit price. Small MOQ or sample orders have higher unit cost due to setup charge.
  6. Application working condition Blades for superalloy, cast steel and heavy forging machining adopt special carbide substrate formula, which is higher cost than standard wood or general steel cutting blades.
  7. Raw material market fluctuation Tungsten and cobalt price changes will affect the final quotation.
